What is a brave act? What are the necessary and sufficient conditions for an act to be a brave one?

It depends of the condition of the environment and of the situation in which you are trying and show your bravery ...

Are you a brave man if you face a group of dogs using your naked hands?
It depends on the dogs ... are we talking about 3 cockers or about 3 rottweilers trained to kill? Posted by Luca

I would see the borderline of bravery where the common sense ends, the common way to act. Anyway remember that bravery has got a superior borderline: madness.
this borderline depends on motivations: if a mother face without weapons the above mentioned rottweilers to save her child, this is bravery, the most noble, but if her motivations are futile ... this is madness. Posted by Luca

Robbie,
A brave act is being able to confront practical everyday situations whether be it at a work environment, alongside family, home, with your friends etc, and being to have the valour and courage to learn wisely from previous mistakes, and apologise for any major errors you have made, and have the essential learning ability to learn from these in the nearby future. Those who cannot attempt to be brave enough to learn from their own mistakes are foolish and cowards. Are we brave enough to sarifice almost all our possessions, and belongings for our own family, being left almost nothing? Are we brave enough to apologise and say sorry, although alot of people have their own pride and respect? Are we brave enough to overcome obstacles and barriers to achieve our own everyday tasks e.g. Standing up to another person, who causes us intentional harm. Posted by Soph

I understand a brave act as an act that is taken even if there is not enought conditions to realise it. This conditions are defined by personal ideais and/or social ideas.
Eg. finish a degree along with hard working (to pay the degree without any other support) is a brave act. Posted by Marco Afonso

a brave act can be many things.
To me a brave act is stepping out of your comfort zone and putting others welfare/safty ahead of you own. i.e. Standing up to the bully who picks on others. Putting your life at risk to save another. To go against the majority when you know they are wrong. Quitting your job because it makes you miserable before you find a new one. Doing something that you would never consider doing. There are so many I could go on...but you get my idea. Posted by Moe

To be brave I have to be courageous, first you have to feel brave then courageous to do what ever is the purpose of your bravery.
Step 1- PURPOSE. A motive Step 2- BRAVERY to start. Step 3- COURAGE to continue. Posted by Ingenous
