The link between Electromagnetism and Gravity?
Electrostatic forces arises from electric charges, magnetism from moving charged particles (or currents) and gravity from the curvature of space-time. Join this active discussion "Electricy, Magnetism and Gravity" in the
Sarawak Science forum on Friendster. How can these fundamental forces (interactions) be unified, and what searches of deep space are underway for new discoveries? String theories are the best chance of unifying gravity with the other fundamental forces. As theories, they are highly mathematical, not related to scientific observation. Three points about observable phenomena are worth mentioning: The search for the Higgs Boson, the particle which gives other particles their mass. Then, dark energy and dark matter, both of which are important phenomena in the universe, but are still unexplained. Hopefully string theories will provide some of the answers.

One difference between general relativity and string theories is the number of dimensions. General relativity works in four dimensional space-time. String theories require a higher number of dimensions, 10 or 11 in one recent model, called
M-Theory. This link on
General Relativity explains the shortcomings of Relativity theory.

...but in the various numbers of formulas, could it be possible to find out just the one that could offer us a perfect defined moment in time, it is really hard to explain, and what about the photon ? thank you Colin for even answering to such a young but truth thirsty one as myself
